Nvidia supercharges GeForce DirectX 12 performance with new Game Ready driver - landesshypeation

When information technology comes to performance, to the highest degree people cogitate that Radeon graphics cards hold an edge over Nvidia's GeForce army in DirectX 12 games on account of the ordained asynchronous shaders lurking inside AMD's ironware. That's ne'er been the universal verity that many people cerebrate information technology is—async cypher is just one, not-forever-utilized feature article of DX12—and now Nvidia's busting the myth even more with a driver update designed to supercharge GeForce performance in DirectX 12 games.

"Past refining the code in our own driver, and running side-past-side with game developers, Nvidia has delivered performance increases past an average of 16% across DirectX 12 titles," senior PR managing director Brian Burke said in a release. Hither are some specific examples Nvidia passed along:

  • Ashes of the Singularity – 9%
  • Gears of War 4 – 10%
  • Hitman – 23%
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider – 33%
  • Tom Clancy's The Partition – 4%

Non moth-eaten, Nvidia. Not shabby at totally. The explicit public presentation increases in Hitman and Rise of the Grave Raider are the sort of massive leaps you'd normally ensure away upgrading your art card, sound out, from the GeForce GTX 1080 to the ferocious new GTX 1080 Te.

Gears of War 4.

Speaking of which, the DirectX 12 improvements were salute in the 378.78 survey drivers Nvidia sent to the constrict for GTX 1080 Ti testing. PCWorld retested the GTX 1070 and 1080 during our inspection process, and you could by all odds see the boost in DX12 performance. When the GTX 1080 launched in May 2016, it topped out at 63.3 frames per s in Ashes of the Singularity at high settings and 4K resolving in DirectX 12, with DX11 performance hot on its heels retributive 5fps behind. With the new drivers, Ashes hits 73.7fps in DX12 with the Sami settings, patc the performance gulf between DX11 and DX12 modes widened to 9.5 frames. Giggity.

"Gains will be subject connected the system spectacles and in-game settings," Burke told me when I asked whether all DX12 game will see performance improvements. "We're sighted consistent gains for Hired gun, Ashes, and The Division across a wide range of card game (GTX 970, 980 Titanium, 1080, 1060)… [Gains] should be in other titles too."

Nvidia's new WHQL-documented driver also unlocks support for the aforementioned GeForce GTX 1080 Te, which kicks altogether kinds of ass. It also adds hold for Nvidia's terrific Ansel screenshot technology to the freshly released Ghost Recon: Wildlands. That's a have I'm personally looking at forward to playing around with As a screenshot hook and big Ansel winnow; Ghost Recon: Wildlands' rich, heavy world seems like an ideal fit for Ansel technology.
